Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University, Master’s in Economics from the ILADES/Georgetown University program, and Commercial Engineer from the University of Santiago, Chile. She has a distinguished track record in public policy related to financial markets and pension systems.

Before joining the Commission, she led the Financial Policy Division at the Central Bank of Chile (2017–2022). Prior to that, she was Lead Pension Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) (2015–2017).

Between 2006–2010 and 2010–2014, she served as Superintendent of Pensions in Chile. During these periods, she was Vice President and later President of the Technical Committee of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS). She was also a member of the Financial Stability Council, the Capital Market Committee, and served as Chair of Chile’s Risk Rating Commission.

Her previous roles include Head of Research at the Superintendency of Pensions (2003–2006), World Bank consultant (2005–2007), and Senior Economist in the Research Division at the Central Bank of Chile (2001–2003).

In academia, she has been a graduate-level professor at both the University of Chile and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and she has served on the boards of Fulbright Commission Chile, and the Sonrisas and Yo uso bien mi dinero foundations.
