Nicolás Grau is Chile’s Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism since March 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s and bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Chile.
Prior to his ministerial role, he was a professor of economics at the University of Chile and associate researcher at the Center for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). In 2006, he served as President of the University of Chile Student Federation (FECH). His academic and professional work has focused on economic development, inequality, and public policy, combining scholarly research with active public service.
