Álvaro González

Undersecretary of Mining of Chile

Lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, MBA from the same institution, and Master of Laws from the University of Chile. He has extensive experience in the mining sector and in regulatory compliance within government agencies, industry associations, and companies operating in regulated industries.

He served as Chief of Staff at the Undersecretariat of Mining (2012–2014) and as Legal Advisor to the Undersecretariat of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (2011–2012). In addition, he worked as Head of Regulatory Compliance at the Superintendence of Higher Education (2019–2022).

In the industry association sector, he served as Director of the Legislative Affairs Committee at the National Mining Society (SONAMI) (2022–2025).
