InBest is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 2009. We are an open and collaborative platform that brings together all participants in the capital market, including publicly traded companies, institutional investors, banks, fund managers, stockbrokers, law firms, auditors, credit rating agencies, and others.

We believe that everyone has a role to play in strengthening and expanding our financial market.

ChileDay
Since 2008, InBest—together with the Ministry of Finance—has promoted the Chilean capital market in New York, London, and other key international markets through various initiatives, most notably by organizing ChileDay. This event has become one of the most recognized public-private initiatives in the financial sector. Its aim is to showcase the opportunities offered by Chile’s open and inclusive capital market, promote the Chilean brand abroad, and strengthen economic and sociocultural ties.

Cristóbal Torres is a Board Member at AFP ProVida, Partner at The Tower Consulting, and has been a Board Member of InBest ChileDay since 2016. He spent 11 years as Chief Investment Officer at AFP ProVida (MetLife), overseeing the management of one of Latin America’s most sophisticated pension funds, with assets exceeding US$45 billion. Prior to that, he served as Head of Fixed Income & FX at ProVida and led the trading desk and ALM team at MetLife Chile for five years.
He also worked at Principal Financial Group in the U.S. as a Senior Financial Analyst, specializing in strategic evaluations. He holds a Civil Industrial Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from Yale University.

Jaime Besa is a seasoned private equity executive with over 15 years of experience in investment, operations, and corporate finance. He currently serves on the boards of Rentas y Desarrollo Baker, Sonacol, SIAV, and Volta, and has previously served on the boards of Esmax Distribucion (now Aramco Chile), Papa John’s Chile, and Planigrupo (Mexico), among others. His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including retail, energy, real estate, infrastructure, and waste management.
He is a Partner at Southern Cross Group, a private equity firm with over 25 years of experience investing across Latin America.
Prior to joining Southern Cross, Jaime was Managing Director at Drake Holdings, the direct investment arm of the Ibañez family, where he led the US$1.5 billion sale of Drake Enterprises and Stars Investments’ 25% stake in Walmart Chile to Walmart Inc. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Associate in the Latin America Corporate Finance team at Deutsche Bank.
Jaime holds an MBA from MIT, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University, and both a B.Sc. and M.E. in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

She joined the board of InBest in 2016. Between 1992 and April 2020, she developed her professional career at Telefónica Chile, where she held the positions of Investor Relations Officer, Financial director of Telefónica Chile and Telefónica Móviles Chile, Director of Corporate Purchasing, and Director of Finance and Corporate Administration, developing extensive experience in the financial field in the local and international capital markets.
Additionally, between 2016 and 2020, she also served on the boards of Telefónica Chile and Telefónica Factoring. Over the past 5 years, she has served as an independent Board at Ripley Corp, independent board at Clínica Indisa, independent board at MPM mining, independent board at Valting Consulting, Chair of the audit committees of Ripley and Indisa, member of the advisory board of Singularity U Chile, and a member of the Finance Circle of ICARE and of the Capital Markets Advisory Board of the Treasury.

Alfredo Ergas is a senior executive and board member with broad leadership experience across Latin America.
Since 2013, he has served as Senior Advisor for Latin America at CPPIB (Canada Pension Plan Investment Board). He is Chairman of the Board at Transelec S.A., Chile’s main electricity transmission company, and at Transportadora de Gas del Perú, where he has led strategic and regulatory efforts since 2015.
He is also on the Board of Nedgia in Spain, Grupo Costanera in Chile—the country’s largest operator of concessioned highways—and is founder of InBest, focused on capital market development in Chile. From 2017 to 2023, he was an Independent Director at Banco de Chile, where he chaired the Audit Committee and participated in ALM and Credit Committees.
He has advised companies in energy, agribusiness, and retail, including David del Curto, Energía 7, Sparta, and Termotasajero (Colombia). In executive roles, Alfredo was Regional CFO of Enersis/Enel Chile (2003–2012), overseeing financial operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Chile; CFO of Endesa Chile (2001–2003); CFO and Controller of Smartcom (1999–2001), later acquired by Claro; and held senior roles at Enersis and Santiago S.A. Corredores de Bolsa. He holds a TRIUM Global Executive MBA (NYU Stern, LSE, HEC Paris, with honors), a Master’s in Philosophy from Universidad de Chile (2022–2024, highest distinction), and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the same institution.

In 2022, he received the Investment Lawyer of the Year Award from Best Lawyers. He has taught postgraduate courses on corporate law and venture capital at several universities, including the Catholic University of Chile, the University of Los Andes, and the Adolfo Ibáñez University.

His executive career was developed at Empresas CMPC, where he worked from 1987 to 2018. He served as CEO from 2011 to 2018. Prior to that, he held various positions within the company, including General Manager of the Forestry Business from 2004 to 2010, and Corporate Finance Manager from 1997 to 2003. Mr. Rodríguez holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA).
