Miguel Ángel Ballesteros Martín is a reserve Brigadier General of Artillery and holds a PhD in Political Science. He served as Director of Spain's Department of National Security, the body under the Prime Minister's Office responsible for coordinating national security policy, a role he held from 2018 to 2023. He has an extensive background in defense affairs, geopolitics and strategic analysis.
