Lawyer from Universidad Católica de Chile and a member of the National Renewal Party (RN). He is a senator for the 9th Electoral District, Maule Region, for the 2018–2026 term. He served as the Intendant (regional governor) of the Maule Region and is currently the president of RN.

In his professional career, he was part of the law firm Beuchat, Barros & Pfenniger; served as chief legal counsel for Empresas Luchetti S.A.; and was the manager of Galilea S.A., a civil engineering and construction company.

On March 11, 2010, he became Intendant of the Maule Region, a position he held until March 11, 2014. He has served as senator for the 9th District, Maule Region, since 2018; and on September 9, 2023, he was elected president of National Renewal.

Since 2003, he has presided over the “Ven y Ayúdame” Corporation, an organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer or serious illnesses in the Maule Region. He is also a member of the Citizens' Observatory of the Talca Regional Hospital and president of the Patient Support Corporation for the same healthcare facility.

Currently, Senator Galilea chairs the Accounts Review Committee and is a member of the standing committees on Labor and Social Welfare; Joint Budget Committee; Culture, Heritage, Arts, Sports and Recreation; Constitution, Legislation, Justice and Regulations; the Second Joint Budget Subcommittee; and the special bicameral committee referred to in Article 153 of the Political Constitution of the Republic.

Previously, he was a member of several other committees, including those on Economy, and Government, Decentralization, and Regionalization.
