He was President of SOFOFA from 2017 to 2021, and CEO of Colbún from 2005 to 2011. After that, he joined the company's board of directors, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman.

He is the founder and director of Pivotes, a Public Policy Impact Center. He currently serves as Chairman of CMPC, after having held the position of Vice Chairman of the board since 2022.

He holds a degree in Business and Economics from Universidad Católica de Chile, an MSc in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics, and an MSc in Management from Stanford University.
