Enrique Ostalé Cambiaso is a prominent Chilean business engineer, entrepreneur, and academic, known for his leadership in the retail sector in Latin America. Since April 2023, he has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors at Falabella S.A., becoming the first executive outside the founding families to assume this role.
Ostalé holds a degree in Business and Economics from Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) and a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His career began in 1989 at Distribución y Servicio (D&S), a company owned by the Ibáñez family, where he held various positions, including General Manager of the Líder hypermarket chain.
In 2000, he became General Manager of Emol, the digital portal of El Mercurio, and from 2002 to 2006, he served as Dean of the Business School at UAI. He returned to D&S in 2006 as General Manager, leading the company through its transition following its acquisition by Walmart in 2009. He later held executive positions at Walmart, including President and CEO for Latin America, and Executive Vice President for Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Africa.
